Arthur Lakes was a drawing/writing instructor. To celebrate his legacy, Friends of Dinosaur Ridge present “DRAWING DAY” – an open house, come as you are, day of sketching. Each participating artist will be set up their “studio” in a different corner of the barn and participants can go from one artist to the next to learn something about all the topics! Erin Fair, FoDR Assistant Program Director will teach participants how to draw a dinosaur. Next, Judy Peterson, FoDR board member an award winning scientific illustrator, will show participants how artists “put the muscle to the bone” to create paleoreconstructions. Fort Collins book author and illustrator, Gary Raham, will teach landscape sketching. Dr. Sue Ware, DMNS associate researcher, will instruct on correct depiction of bones and skeletal anatomy. Participants will go home with completed sketches to put upon their refrigerators!
