Visit our About Us section to learn about how our Exhibits and trails here at Dinosaur Ridge and at Triceratops Trail were created to help the public explore ancient Colorado and the creatures that once lived here.

Walk with 90-foot, long-necked giants across a floodplain lined with streams, ponds, and watering holes!  Trace the ripple patterns left by Colorado’s ocean on Morrison’s sandy beaches!  Muck through Golden’s swamp under the shade of palm trees with Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex at Triceratops Trail!

Come have an adventure at Dinosaur Ridge!

  • Triceratops Trail Notice: The bike path that leads to the Triceratops Trail trail head is closed for the next 17 months due to construction. Please click here to see a map that will lead you to the new entrance while construction is taking place.

Upcoming events:

May 4 - TriceraTOTs, (Wednesday) 10 a.m.

TriceraTOTS is a toddler-aged program fit for 2-5 year olds. During this program we read 2-4 children’s books with a dinosaur theme and do a 10-15 minute craft or activity. The program typically lasts 30-45 minutes. RSVP your kiddo(s) with Erin LaCount at tours@dinoridge.org, or on our Facebook Page. This program takes place at our Discovery Center (17681 W Alameda Parkway), Entrance #1 of Red Rocks Park.

May 14 - Boy Scout Day (Saturday9 a.m.-3 p.m. (10 a.m. start for non-scouts)

Boy Scout Day is an opportunity for Scouts at all levels to satisfy their science requirements for certain badges. These badges include the Earth Rocks, Digging into the Past, Backyard Jungle, Paws on the Path, and many more Adventure badges at the Cub and Webelo levels, and the Geology Merit Badge at the Boy Scout level. These awards are available through the Boy Scouts of America and not the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge. More than 80 earth scientists and other volunteers, including certified Merit Badge Counselors, assist with the event, and nearly a dozen of organizations attend as special guests (National Park Service, Denver Astronomical Society, Bear Creek Lake Park, and many more!).
