In the next few years, we will begin construction on our long-anticipated tracksite cover to preserve the 300+ tracks at the main tracksite. During construction of the cover, we will be forced to temporarily close the main tracksite. For a brief period, these tracks will be inaccessible to visitors like you, who love to place their hands in the footprints of the past.
You, and our 200,000 annual visitors, need an alternate location to view dinosaur tracks and trace fossils while we work to protect the tracks at the main tracksite that were made more than 100 million years ago, when Denver’s mountainous area was the coast of an ancient seaway.
With support from members, donors, and dinosaur (or crocodile) lovers everywhere, we are breaking ground this fall on the construction of a modest stairway and platform for visitors to safely access additional dinosaur and crocodile tracks just north of FoDR’s main tracksite.

Last year we had 35,000 people take our tour buses at Dinosaur Ridge. People have so much to learn from our knowledgeable bus drivers about our fossil sites and dinosaur tracks. We have 45-minute tours where people can see and touch the fossils and tracks and visit the #1 ranked dinosaur track site. But we don’t have enough buses! Please consider donating to this worthy cause so that our visitors can continue to learn about the rich paleontological and geological history at Dinosaur Ridge.
